this was a very mean joke to play on denise richards! all worth it for the last line though

a pretty fun james bond movie, a little darker than the joel schumacher-esque silliness of the last one, really enjoy the bond-girl-as-villain twist, and what a pre-title opening! song by garbage is good too. sophie marceau and robbie coltrane are complete delights and light up the screen whenever they're on it, which isn't often enough. wish carlyle was playing it a little more fun, but the whole movie seems a little tonally confused, i bet it's a direction issue
